Mt. Chase Lodge, so much more than a place to stay...

It's an experience like no other!

You’ve always dreamed of visiting Maine...

This is the year. You’ve heard all the stories—the rugged coast, the whale watching, the fresh seafood. It all sounds perfect… until you remember the crowds—lines at restaurants, packed trails, traffic on scenic roads, and nowhere to park. Not exactly the peaceful retreat you envisioned.

You take the road less traveled, venturing just a little further north—to where the moose outnumber the people, where the stars shine brighter, and where “traffic” means waiting for a beaver to cross the pond.

We had a fabulous time at Mt Chase Lodge and give it our highest recommendation. The meals at the lodge were outstanding: delicious, elegant and worthy of any fine dining restaurant. Chef (and co-owner) Mike prepares them on site using fresh, often local produce. What a treat to come home after a day in the woods to exceptional dinners with deserts to rave about! The staff easily accommodated our dietary preferences. We spent 6 glorious nights at the lodge, mainly hiking in the northern part of Baxter State Park, and exploring the new contact station at Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument. Both were exceptional! In the end, it was the grace and kindness of Lindsay and Mike (and Kelly!!) who treated us like close friends. We hope to be back and are recommending this lodge to all our friends and family!

This family owned lodge serves great meals and offers excellent recreational opportunities. The cabin we rented was clean and comfy with an electric space heater and good wood stove. I recommend them highly.

We had our rehearsal dinner at Mt Chase lodge the night before getting married at Shin Pond Village on 8/15/26. I first reached out to Lindsey way in advance to chat about a room block for our guests and to see if dinner there would be possible/ what our options were. She was so helpful, super welcoming, and very friendly upon our first meeting. We absolutely loved the lodge, the location and the overall atmosphere. After the initial discussions, my mother in law took the reins on all the planning, worked with Lindsey, etc. and it turned out to be absolutely beautiful. The food was SO good, our guests were very happy, and we had a great night with our closest friends and family before the big day. There were tables inside and outside, a variety of drink options, and dinner was served buffet style, as this is what worked best for us, but they do plated meals as well. Sitting outside, waterfront, enjoying a delicious meal with my friends, family, and soon to be husband, was one of my favorite parts of the whole weekend. Mt. Chase really knows how to provide excellent service, serves incredible food, and have very welcoming and friendly energy while doing it all. Several of our wedding guests stayed in their lodging, as well as my husband and I the night of our wedding. We stayed in a small waterfront cabin and it was perfect. I love that they have a variety of lodging options, and all of them are clean, comfortable, convenient and in a beautiful location. We only have good things to say about Mt. Chase Lodge- we could not be happier with our whole experience working and staying with them, and we are looking forward to going back again!

We've visited Mt. Chase Lodge a number of times over the past 40+ years. It's a unique, heavenly kind of place, with very comfortable accommodations, great people, and wonderful wildlife such as loons, owls, and moose. The lodge is very close to both Katahdin Woods and Waters National Monument and Baxter State Park, which makes it an ideal base for hikers. The food at MCL is incredible, and the hosts go out of their way to please, even if you're on a special diet. (For example, I only eat uncooked rigatoni coated with Vicks VapoRub and arranged in a little hexagon on a light blue ceramic plate.) If you're looking for a quiet getaway in a beautiful setting, this is the spot!

Had never been to the North Woods or Katahdin area before, and we chose Mt. Chase Lodge based on the prior reviews. It turned out to be a fantastic choice. In our two nights here, we were impressed by the tranquil setting (quiet, lake views, night-time fires) and the clean, comfortable rooms we rented. But more than anything we were blown away by the hospitality Linsday provides (you feel comfortable and like you're at home the minute you walk in), and the delicious dinners Mike cooked. Would love to stay here again!
