1/17/19 Trail Update
Well below 0 this morning and windy
We received a couple of inches of soft snow yesterday and last night. Both Groomers went out of Shin Pond last night All trails were groomed that Sunday and Monday 1/13 and are flat and fast with good lubrication.
>JJ groomed ITS114/85 from Shin Pond to Whetstone Bridge (PT13) last night and it is very good riding.
>Tristan groomed 114/85 North from Shin Pond to meet the Oxbow club to the north.
>Club trail 64 was groomed prior to this little snow and is good riding from ITS114 South of Shin Pond to ITS81 near Patten.
>The culvert hazard was cleared on 71D yesterday just south of Cunningham Lookout.
Libby’s groomer came our yesterday and Johnny is our now grooming 114/85/71D from Shin Pond up onto Cunningham lookout.
Keep in mind 71D north across Grand Lake Seboeis is still closed due to Logging on the north side of the lake so those traveling from the north need to come almost all the way down to Shin Pond on ITS85 and towards Matagamon to pickup 71D to get to Libby Camps or the trains). We hope to get this section of 71D open this year but it depends on how long the logging takes to wrap up.
>The Huber Road has also has a logging operation which is finishing up and we will get that open as soon as possible.
